This is what I made this weekend...Handmade Marshmallows from Butter Baked Goods, Dark Chocolate and fresh Ginger Cookies...ohh laa laa...

You know I always love to find things that have won the Fancy Food Festival Awards from The NY Fancy Food Festival...That is how I found these wonderful Marshmallows...

Sweet, soft, light clouds...That is just the best way I can describe the flavor and texture of the most wonderful Butter Baked Goods Marshmallow from Canada.

I just had a computer fry on me...everything is gone...even the magic of supergeeks could not wake it up...instead of crying I ate a whole bunch of the strawberry marshmallows and guess what? I feel better! they are magic!

Red Pineapple loves summertime because all the colors under the rainbow get to come out to play! Just got in lots of new office stuff, Mari Mari and Thomas Paul, great cards, note pads, desk blotters that have pretty calenders...beautiful time to get organized!

After so many requests I finally brought in some fun new bath stuff from Thymes! Hand creme, body washes, bar soaps, and very nice candles...easy sweet smelling gifts! Agave Nectar is a great clean citrus...sweet and fresh!

And everyone's favorite...Lavender oh the bath salts work great as drawer fragrances...pop a sachet in and all your clothes smell wonderful.

Kimono Rose seems to be the crowd favorite, soft floral, not too sweet, just right...

And new goodies for your furry babies...It is so funny because I would never say "I'm going to order some pet brushes.." BUT when I open a catalog up and I see these I say- OH MY GOODNESS look at these brushes shaped like bones! We HAVE to have these!!! Ha Ha yes, my cats Teddy and Steve approve...and they got new cat bowls too!

Multi-functional cutting boards that are heat resistant for your hot pots and make awesome serving trays. They should have been called something like 3 in 1 fun and fabulous kitchen goodness...or something like that. Spring cleaning has officially invaded closets around Hawaii. While some people relish digging through drawers and dressers, others cringe at the thought of the loads of laundry they will have to dispose of somehow.
That’s where Nalani McLaughlin Holliday comes in. Better known for her creative and eclectic specialty boutique Red Pineapple and own line of tasty treats called Auntie Nalani’s Cookies, Holliday has decided to lend a hand to her customers this year by putting on a clothing drive. And if the in-store discount doesn’t get people in the door, knowing that their used clothing will be donated to several charities both here and abroad certainly will. “Anytime you see people give, it makes you feel good,” Holliday says with a smile. “I am hoping everyone who takes part in this project feels good.”

One do-gooder close to Holliday’s heart is Oprah Winfrey. Stepping into the Ward location, many of the shop’s shelves are lined with products recommended straight from O magazine. In fact, it is the new reality show Oprah’s Big Give (Holliday and husband Christopher have been addicted since the show’s premiere last month) that motivated Holliday to start a giving project that would also get her customers involved.
“I want people to think outside of the box, and I want to inspire others to do good, to give and to say thank you to others that are helping,” says Holliday.
So when employee Natasha Senieur approached Holliday last month and said she wanted to help the Sirende orphanage in Africa, Holliday realized this was her “ah-ha” moment, the time when she could use her store as her own big give vehicle and have customers get on board.
“I know people have huge hearts out there,” she firmly avows. “It is apparent that sometimes people need to be pointed in the giving direction, to open up their wallets and hearts. I also think you should move toward and reach out to projects that make your heart smile.”
All donated keiki clothing will be shipped to the African orphanage, while Holliday and her employees will sort through and give the remaining garments to local agencies PATH (Perinatal Addiction Treatment of Hawaii), Dress for Success and Catholic Charities.

Just can't find the right words...well, Red Pineapple just got in some very sassy, fun, but...very adult stationary...I mean unexpectedly naughty!

Let me just say that there are a few "F" words in there...If you are in the store you may need to ask for them, we have them out of reach from smaller hands and young eyes. I found them in a little-itty bitty stationary store on Abbot Kinney...a great little street in LA filled with delightful boutiques, Red Pineapple really wants to open there!

These cards are sassy, naughty and probably only fit for your REALLY close friends. However, with that said I sold half of what I brought in on the first evening I unpacked them...The funny thing is the cards are just beautiful so there is a bit of tongue-in-cheek comedy as the words written in flawless letterpress are just so Wrong! Who would think the word "slut" could look so impeccably beautiful!

We have single cards, small note pads and post-its...

Okay enough about Naughty...now for something NICE...

They were featured in Honolulu Magazine and, yes you can only get them at Red Pineapple...I really like the Poultry Rub and the Barbecue Rub...you don't really need to be limited to Rubbing 'em on stuff! I am making chicken soup tonight and I used the Poultry Rub in the base, it is so fragrant and just adds a little more chickeny-ness... Before the Police concert...did you go? we had Hamburgers and I put the Barbecue Rub in the meat oh yummy! What a great flavor!

Hi there...we made some great baskets that I just had to share with you. For Valentines Day we had a really great Gift Basket with a beautiful love note inside...no, I did not read it! But oh how I was tempted!

I also just got a big shipment of Little Twig, Lots of the girls in the store just love the bubble bath and use it as a great smelling bath gel. I have lots of samples in the store of the lotion and the other goodies by Little Twig...it will be our blog secret so come into the store and ask for some samples!!
We also just unpacked some Easter goodies, can you believe it is only a month away! what is going on here! See you in Red Pineapple!

I'm back in all my Red Pineapple Glory.. I got a few emails from those wondering "Hey! Why aren't you Blogging when you said you would?" ! Okay so here I am I vow to send you Weekly updates..AND if you want to get on my private Red Pineapple People Email list send me your email via my site and I will send you product updates that may or may-not make this blog...How is that for a big Tease!

Okay so I have been to LA twice in 3 weeks. What does that mean for you? Lots of new things coming to Red Pineapple.
First I hit the Blue Carpet (AKA LA gift show)...Wow. Lots of new goodies. Lots from Lollia who always surprises me. I got the entire line, yes even all those luscious bar soaps. Will let you know when all of that has arrived.
There are some new fragrances as well. So light and true to the brand...You will be addicted of course.

I also found Heavenly Hostess. Oh my, all the women in my family are getting one for their birthdays as we all entertain like madwomen and no party hostess with the mostess will be complete with out one of these spectacular (yes, appropriate word usage here) aprons. Now most of us think of aprons as purely functional. My friends and family know that I am a scarf wearing chef with a well worn cotton number that is far from fashionable. So when I came home from LA I made a beeline for the kitchen. I may have even had my carry on in one hand for sure i had not stopped to take those heels off...anyhow, I ripped open the kitchen drawer and declared a heartless good bye to my cotton aprons fit only for Betty Crocker. Straight they went into the trash. It was quite liberating. Meanwhile Christopher looked at me and said..."honey did you have too much champagne on the plane?"
"Oh no dear but sit right down and let me tell you about the satin, silk, organza, sequin and sashed aprons I have ordered ...they were on Desperate Housewives and let me tell you no woman who owns a spatula or wooden bowl will be able to live with out these aprons. Even if they do not know how to operate a spatula they will need an apron... "

So I got the aprons in last week and sold all of them the day before Valentines Day. Don't worry, I have more on the way girls so If you do not already own a spatula or a whisk you should get one immediately so you can at least look the part ....
I also brought back some Italian Soap, They smell so good you may want to eat them. Lemon, Peach, Tomato ( I know it sounds weird but is smells like a garden) Pomegranate. The bars are kind of firm, I am finding they last a really long time. Love them.

So what do you bring to the "mainland" from paradise...hawaiian goodies ofcourse! I leave tonight for NYC and I am bringing a bag full of Auntie Nalani's Cinnamon Macadamia Nuts and lots of Auntie Nalani's Cookies. Chocolate Chip Macadamia Nut and Butter Macadamia Nut!

We have them in our carry-on bags too after all a girl needs to eat!

So, what is arriving at Red Pineapple? Rosanna, Dean & Deluca and Anthousa...back by popular demand the set of three...so if you can't quite decide you can have a different scent in each room!

Finally I am really an Auntie! I have had a cookie company for about 8 years called Auntie Nalani's Cookies www.auntienalaniscookies.com since I had so many children in my life that I adore I thought I am an Auntie! but now, now I REALLY am and aunt! Yippie and congratulations to Ryan and Janet and welcome to the world Jack!

So as you may guess this baby is going to be spoiled rotten!

Little Twig, All the Built NY goodies, Patricia's Blankets and lots of clothes! Christopher and I leave tomorrow for 10 blissful days. Can you tell I am so excited!

In other news...have you seen a website called www.stylehive.com take a peek, it is pretty neat. Probably don't need to go there everyday but fun when you are tired of surfing the web with no direction, have fun!
